Resources

There are incredible organizations that work to support bereaved families. They offer support groups and/or helplines where you can speak with others who have gone through a similar loss or counselors trained to be a listening ear and offer practical or emotional support.

Connect with your local mosque or religious community center. Ask for recommendations for Muslim psychologists. Ask for recommendations among your network of family and friends. Find someone you are comfortable speaking with.

This is a very preliminary list. If you would like to share sources of institutional support (organization, counselor, book, videos or lectures) that helped you, personal advice or practical tips on managing grief or a letter sharing your own experience and words of encouragement, please email me.
